“We are delighted to be returning home to the Architecture Centre with a fresh collection of artists and gifts to inspire and delight. As the nights draw in we tend to congregate inside our homes to create, share and collaborate; our new shop will celebrate the places we live in, the objects that create a home and the artworks that make our abodes unique.” Bryony Morgan, Founder and curator of Made in Bristol
Made in Bristol comes HOME to the Architecture Centre’s gallery this October with a new seasonal shop, celebrating the places we live in and the creative objects that make our abodes unique.
Opening Saturday 28 October, and running to the 22 December (Wednesday – Sunday 10am – 6pm, plus Tues in Dec) the Architecture Centre’s harbourside gallery is bursting at the seams with handpicked, handcrafted products, designed and made in the UK. From artwork, jewellery and ceramics to homeware, furniture and clothing – the shop gathers architecturally inspired makers and their design-led works to offer us the very best gifts this festive season.
The Architecture Centre is delighted to once again partner with Made in Bristol, who run events, exhibitions and pop-up shops to showcase the creative talent of Bristol. This year Made in Bristol’s shop focuses on the theme of HOME, the most familiar architectural space of all. Celebrating the objects and artworks that make our house a home, Made in Bristol’s exciting new collection will inspire us to make our homes a space for creative experiment. From Made Anew’s re-purposed furniture ‘designed to transform the everyday into the extraordinary‘ to Ruby Cubes’s homeware that ‘focuses on affordable design that everybody can love & use‘ there is something for everyone here on the harbourside.
New designers joining the shop this year include:
- Ceramic jewellery from Elisabeth Barry
- Furniture pieces from Made Anew
- Children’s clothes from Beb & Ooo
- Massage oils, soaps and candles from Loop Massage
- Rope homewares from Ruby Cubes
Returning designers and familiar faces:
- Prints and mugs from Hannah Broadway
- Homeware from Nick Fraser
- Leather jewellery from Kay Morgan
- Jewellery, prints and textiles from Ruth Broadway
- Lino-prints and cards from Jane Kendall
The HOME pop-up shop is also accompanied by an exhibition in the gallery’s foyer entitled Generation Place.
