Design support

Supporting built environment professionals, decision-makers and communities to achieve design excellence.

The Architecture Centre champions better buildings and places for everyone. With a particular focus on Bristol and the West of England, we support built environment professionals, decision-makers and communities to achieve design excellence and encourage sustainable design.

We manage the Bristol Urban Design Forum, a group of design and environment professionals who provide independent, expert peer review on significant development proposals in the city. We work with Bristol City Council’s City Design Group to support initiatives to encourage better place-making, and undertake public consultation on new design proposals.

Our monthly Ask an Architect sessions, in partnership with the RIBA, offer the public the opportunity to access professional design advice. Debates, talks and conferences, such as Sustainable Schools,  offer Continuing Professional Development opportunities.

We use our expertise and networks to deliver specific projects, such as Design Your Neighbourhood, to build capacity and support communities in achieving better design.
