“Architecture is a unique combination of science and art, but also something that we can all relate to, have experience of, as well as being an essential and very concrete element of all our lives. These qualities make it an engaging focus for Arts Awards” Amy Harrison, Head of Learning & Participation
Arts Award is a national scheme initiated by Arts Council England to inspire young people to participate in the arts. The Architecture Centre is an Arts Award Supporter.
Arts Awards can be accessed at five different levels. Arts Award Discover is the introductory award open to children and young people aged up to 25. To achieve Discover, children and young people discover the arts around them, find out about artists and their work and share their experiences with others. This award provides a great introduction to the arts and to other Arts Award levels.
The Architecture Centre has created a useful workbook resource for children doing Arts Award Discover by exploring the theme of architecture.
