Have you an architectural project you’d like to discuss with an impartial design expert? Ask An Architect is an excellent design advice service offered by the Architecture Centre and Royal Institute of British Architects to support design projects in the city.
Visitors are invited to book a 30 minute slot (or consecutive slots for a longer chat) to discuss plans, schemes and dreams for large or small projects. It is an opportunity to meet with a qualified architect for a friendly and informal talk to discuss your plans for building projects. You are welcome to bring along materials to aid the discussion, such as photographs, floor plans, inspirational examples or just your thoughts.
The Architecture Centre is pleased to be working with the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) once again in 2018 to offer monthly Saturday advice surgeries with a local architect from a Chartered Practice.
Architect in Residence this month:
Nicola Chan BA (Hons) DipArch ARB
Nicola studied at the University of Sheffield and London Metropolitan University, before working with a number of respected practices in London and Bristol. She leads an undergraduate studio at the Welsh School of Architecture, has acted as visiting critic at the University of the West of England and is a cofounder of Chan Brisco Architects.
“This was a great opportunity to meet with an independent designer and get their view on my ideas at very early concept stage. She gave me some great feedback and has given me the confidence to progress the works.” Participant
Ask An Architect is programmed in partnership with RIBA South West. The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) champions better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and its members. It provides the standards, training, support and recognition that put members – in the UK and overseas – at the peak of their profession.
