The Architecture Centre
Thu 5 Jul 2018
17:45 - 20:00
To celebrate #EthelDay 2018, RIBA and the Architecture Centre are pleased to host an evening of inspiration.
Architectural historian, Dr Sarah Whittingham will talk on Bristol’s first female architect, Eveline Dew Blacker, designer of the Bristol Cenotaph.
We are also joined by three contemporary female architects from Bristol, Paula Willmore, Willmore Iles; Rachel Bell, Stride Treglown; and Vicky Smith from Bristol City Council who will share what inspired them to become architects and their thoughts for the future.
Join colleagues, friends, clients and architects from across the city for this evening that celebrates the achievements of women in architecture.
Ethel Mary Charles was the first woman architect to join RIBA, in 1898. On 5 July, #EthelDay is a nationwide celebration of women in architecture.
