Can you draw your home from memory? Drop in for a self-led drawing activity.
Wed 2 Aug 2017
13:00 - 16:00
To celebrate national Play Day 2017, we’re joining forces with Bristol Play Network on College Green by inviting families to playfully interact with the spaces around them through drawing and chalking activities & cardboard constructions. Download the Bristol Play Day poster here.
The activities will be inspired by the Architecture Centre’s summer exhibition Murdered with Straight Lines: Drawings of Bristol by Garth England. Garth England’s drawings are a wonderful combination of meticulous memory and painstaking drawing. At this creative workshop we wish to bring out the playful side of Garth’s drawings, their humor and personality. Animating our streets and making the ordinary appear extraordinary, come join us for some ad-hoc street chalking. Or for the dexterous constructor, help us build a cardboard city scape.
Change of venue
Please note that we have moved this activity’s venue from the Architecture Centre. The activity will now take place at College Green.
Play Day Takeover is part of the national Playday 2017. Playday is the national day for play in the UK, traditionally held on the first Wednesday in August. This year’s Playday takes place on Wednesday 2 August 2017. On Playday, thousands of children and their families get out to play at hundreds of community events across the UK.
